(and my larger circles )
allow us, as people
to be with the work
fullsize
sometimes,
in order to take in a piece
we enter it
we walk all around
through and under
or only to the boundary
( not yet allowed to enter)
we look up
we look down
we are an embodied presence
in immediate relationship

Giclees and Lithographs
falling in love with the work of Ben Shahn and Corita Kent, i knew part of my life work would be worded pieces silent language
an idea that spoke to the heart/mind.soul with a drawing or color field that spoke without words
understanding, that as humans, there is an art to blessing and that in so doing, one feels blessed..
choosing texts/prayers/blessings/wisdom that went right to my heart were chosen for these pieces may it do the same for others
THE NOTECARDS
the right Notecard,
conveys the questions, ideas, emotions
that want to be transmitted
allowing the sender space for personal expression.
with word, symbol, or quotation
that has depth and breadth,
these cards are meditations
the texts emerged from Kabbalistic ideas,
wise beings and my own soul.
consciously using only my hand,
the color of the card stock
is part of the whole
my practice has always included cards:
there is an alignment in the work of the hand
and its relationship to the heart
these are little prayers/blessings
that fly through the air
much like a prayer flag
this time, carrying messages directly to another’s heart or soul

Ritual objects are functional visual embodiments and reminders of the sacred of a moment that separates the holy from the everyday…. They enhance experience through an appeal to the senses, whether through their simplicity or elegance or both.

There is a crossover and blending in some styles of work...the universality, continuity and mystery of the concentric circle..
a whispered word the calligraphic expressive line or color field relationships. (thank you, mark rothko)
